I’ve been dealing with this annoying clunking noise from the front end of my 2014 Lexus IS350 for a few months now, mostly when going over speed bumps or uneven pavement. At first I ignored it but lately the steering has started to feel a bit loose and the car doesn’t track as confidently as it used to. I took it to a general garage and they said the lower control arm bushings look cracked and worn but they wanted to replace the whole arms which is expensive. A friend who’s into cars said sometimes you can just press in new bushings if the arms themselves aren’t damaged, saving a lot of money. I’ve been trying to find a shop that does proper abu dhabi control arm service and can tell me whether I really need whole new arms or just the rubber bits. Has anyone here gone the bushing-only route and had it last? Or am I better off just biting the bullet and doing the full arms? Really don’t want to pay twice for labor if the bushings fail again in a year.
