Anyone running aftermarket pads on their 911 for daily driving in Dubai traffic or stick to OEM
My 991.1 Carrera is due for a brake pad replacement soon and I’m genuinely torn because the dealer quoted me something absurd for the genuine Textar pads and sensors and I know there are plenty of other options out there like EBC Redstuff or even the Ferodo DS Performance that supposedly dust way less and bite a bit harder from cold which would be nice for all the stop and go nonsense on Hessa Street every morning. My only hesitation is that I don’t want to end up with some aggressive compound that squeals like a bus every time I pull up to a valet stand or warps my rotors because the heat cycling is completely wrong for our climate and the way I actually drive which is mostly cruising with the occasional spirited Friday morning run. I stumbled on a page while searching late last night https://brakepadreplacementdubai.ae/brands/porsche-brake-pad-replacement/ and it got me thinking about whether the local specialists in Al Quoz actually stock these performance alternatives and if they’re worth the switch or if I should just bite the bullet and go with the dusty OEM ones that I know won’t give me any headaches. Anyone made the jump to a different pad compound on their Porsche out here and actually been happy with the trade off between dust reduction and initial cold bite in the Dubai heat.
