This one has me confused. My 2012 BMW X6 doesn’t leak a drop of oil when I’m just doing short trips around the city, but whenever I take it on a longer highway run of an hour or more, I come back to find a small puddle of oil under the front of the car the next morning. It’s maybe a few tablespoons, nothing massive, but it’s consistent. I’ve had a regular mechanic look and they couldn’t find the source because when they cleaned everything and ran the car in the shop, no leak appeared. Someone suggested it could be a valve cover gasket that only leaks when the oil gets really hot and thin, or maybe a turbo oil feed line that expands with heat.
